After watching lots of documentaries and reality t.v shows on achieving body perfection i became interested in how overweight people are treated in society, this dismissal and ridicule.And the blitzkrieg of advertizing that starts so early to set these social practices in motion, even without the nasty parents indoctrinating their children.
The depiction of overweight people in our entertainment shows is of people denied their sexual agency , clownish or their physicality being their sole reason for existence. And the patronising depiction of their relationship with food.
Could this all be tied up with our mass consumer culture, which now dominates all western countries.
